Square Enix: uncanny valley will ‘always’ be a problem despite next-gen graphics, longer-lasting current-gen consoles are a ‘mistake’

In a GamesIndustry interview regarding next-gen hardware, Square Enix’s worldwide tech. director Julien Merceron said that graphics alone can’t create realistic characters in video games. He also added that extending the life-cycles of current-gen consoles is a “mistake.”
