Borderlands 2’s first campaign downloadable add-on entitled Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty will be released on Oct. 16, reports The Verge and the Associated Press.
Set in a desert, the previously leaked expansion pack revolves around a one-eyed pirate queen named Captain Scarlett, and like any good pirate adventure, there's a “legend of a treasure,” says Gearbox Software's president Randy Pitchford, reports AP.
In Pirate's Booty, players will get to visit a town called Oasis that's occupied by bandits. There will also be new things like a sand worm enemy, collectible seraph crystal currency, and a sand skiff vehicle, which is what Pitchford was probably referring to when he previously talked about adding Star Wars: Return of the Jedi-style desert transportation.
Seeing as how the DLC is all about pirates in a game all about loot, there will no doubt be some new, glorious loot to plunder as well.
Pirate’s Booty is one of four planned Borderlands 2 expansion packs and you can get it for $9.99 or as part of the $29.99 Season Pass, which includes the four aforementioned add-ons.
